Saldi Battling Back After Accident
July 27, 2009
LAS VEGAS - UNLV sophomore linebacker Bryce Saldi continues to improve after a serious skateboarding accident earlier this month left him in serious but stable condition at a California hospital. Saldi, a graduate of Texas prep football powerhouse Southlake Carroll High School, earned his first letter as a Rebel last season after playing in all 12 games, primarily on special teams. Saldi was on vacation in Southern California at the time of the accident on July 3. He remains in intensive care at Loma Linda University Medical Center. "We are encouraged by the progress Bryce has made as he continues to battle back from a terrible accident," UNLV head coach Mike Sanford said. "His Rebel Football family is thinking of him every day and our thoughts and prayers go out to Bryce and his family."
