Camp Notes: Moving Day|
Aug. 12, 2012
ELY, Nev. (UNLVRebels.com) - The late, great Eddie Rabbitt sang that he loved a rainy night. So too, it seemed Sunday, does the UNLV football team.
After a week of practices in sweltering conditions thanks to a Las Vegas heat wave, the Rebels made the trip north en masse and responded to Ely temperatures in the 70s compliments of an overcast sky and rain-soaked field by turning in a high-tempo, hard-hitting night practice.
Afterward, third-year head coach Bobby Hauck was overflowing with praise of his program's performance in what was the preseason's sixth practice overall and second in full pads.
"It was awesome up here today," said Hauck. "Our guys stepped off the bus after a four-hour-plus ride and had absolutely a great practice." Senior offensive lineman Doug Zismann said the conditions in Ely were ideal.
"The guys came out here ready to go today. It was a great day for football."
UNLV will go through its first double-day on Monday at Broadbent Park.
