CAMP REBEL (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV football concluded its portion of fall camp away from home with its final scheduled scrimmage, continuing to prepare for its season opener just week from today.
The Rebels woke up early and participated in two periods of individual work prior to a full-padded scrimmage on their final day away from home.
Sophomore running back and leading returning rusher Tim Cornett stole the show for the offense after breaking off a 40-yard scamper, reaching the endzone early on while starting quarterback Caleb Herring completed his lone touchdown pass of the day to Marquis Thompson, who made a great diving catch before hurling into the endzone for the score.
The team concluded the scrimmage and enjoyed lunch before hitting the road back to Las Vegas.
UNLV opens the 2011 season at No. 11 Wisconsin a week from today in Madison. The game, which kicks off ESPN's 2011 college football coverage, is set for prime time in the Eastern Time Zone (8 p.m. ET and 5 p.m. PT) and will be available via various platforms: on ESPN HD, online at ESPN3 and for the first time ever, fans can watch their Rebels in 3-D. With the help of a seperate production truck and nine 3-D cameras, UNLV at Wisconsin is the first of 20 regular-season matchups and six bowl games that will be televised this season by ESPN 3D.
