LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - Starting with Saturday's season-opener vs. No. 12 Wisconsin, fans can enjoy a new pregame feature at Sam Boyd Stadium as "Countdown to Kickoff" will appear live on the scoreboard before each home football game, UNLV Intercollegiate Athletics announced Thursday.

The in-stadium pregame show - titled "Countdown to Kickoff" - will begin from the field one hour prior to kickoff and feature live interviews and analysis previewing the game, recorded video packages and other segments featuring some of your favorite Las Vegans and Rebels. Hosted by 98.5 KLUC's Chet Buchanan, UNLV Athletics' Marcus Brody and former UNLV women's basketball player Brittany Halberg, the show is designed to give fans arriving early to the stadium more insight into the UNLV football program and the upcoming game.

Scheduled segments include: a panel of guests to discuss the upcoming game, an interview with UNLV head coach Bobby Hauck, keys to the game as well as a review of the key college football games played earlier in the day.

"We want to provide Rebel fans with something a little different at the stadium this season," said UNLV Athletics Director Jim Livengood. "People around town told us they wanted to learn more about our team and its players. This is a unique way to do that and provide both entertainment and information to our fans at the stadium."

Former NFL head coach and current Las Vegas Locos (UFL) head coach Jim Fassell, ESPN Radio 1100's Paul Howard and Seven Magazine publisher and former UNLV football player Justin Weniger are scheduled to be guests during the first "Countdown to Kickoff" prior to Saturday's 8 p.m. kickoff vs. the Badgers.

Tickets for that game and all six home games this season are on sale now by calling (702) 739-FANS or logging on to www.unlvtickets.com.
