Bobby Hauck Postgame Press Conference Quotes

Opening Statement...
"Disappointing is probably not a strong enough word for that. I think everyone in that locker room is at a personal low point right now. Everything that we have gained a week ago in terms of excitement about our season is gone. It's just wildly disappointing. We served it up and they took it. It was bad."

On the disappointment of the offensive and defensive play...
"Certainly our offense was more disappointing then our defense. We gave them five touchdowns. I have never been around anything like it."

On Caleb Herring's play...
"I can't explain what's going on with Caleb, but I wish I could. If I could explain that right now, it wouldn't have had happened."

On the first and goal play in the first quarter...
"It was actually a check play. That one is going to hang forever, I'll go to my grave with that one: first and goal at the one and no points. Giving that option is bad coaching by me. We try to give our guys some leeway to try and be smart and we outsmarted ourselves. That's bad by me."

On the upcoming bye week...
"I don't know. We are going back to spring ball. We are not going to give an inch. We are going to be physical and we are going to go back and play the survivors up in Reno."

On the first play of the game...
"We actually thought we had we had to take a shot play there. We have watched all their games obviously and thought we had a good chance to take a shot and hit it big on the first play."

On the quarterback situation...
"We will see. We are not very good right now and we got to get better. But it starts with me."

On the mental state of the team...
"I worry about everybody who was involved mental state right now. This is an all time bad. Not to take anything away from them, but we have to look ourselves in the eye, starting with the head coach. This can't happen. It is an all time personal low, in terms of football for everybody involved. I'm not going to sit here and make excuses I'm just telling you that it's not good. If you look at the numbers, you can't give away the ball, you can't give away five touchdowns, you can't be first and one on the one and get no points. You can't beat anybody, you can't win on error. We are back to square one, which is disappointing."

On the upcoming two weeks...
"We are going to practice a bunch, long and hard and physical. It is going to be a toughness check for everybody. Because we can not ever let what happened tonight happen again. It's one thing to have things not go well, it's another to just serve it up."
