Texas Two Step Into Honor|

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - Two UNLV football players earned honorable mention for the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award National Player of the Week on Monday.
Rebel senior running back Tim Cornett and junior wide receiver Devante Davis, both out of Galena Park's North Shore High School in the Houston area, were two of the seven players on the list. This week's national winner was East Carolina quarterback Shane Carden.
Cornett rushed for a career-high 179 yards and three touchdowns on 25 carries while Davis brought in a career-high 10 receptions for 164 yards and another three touchdowns to lead UNLV to a 56-42 victory at New Mexico on Saturday.
The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, announced in 2012 by the Tyler Chamber and SPORTyler, recognizes the top offensive player in college football who also exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community, and tenacity; specifically tenacity to persist and determination to overcome adversity and injury in pursuit of reaching goals. In addition, the nominee must meet one or more of the following criteria: born in Texas and/or graduated from a Texas High School and/or played at a Texas-based college.
