Kickin' It With Serge: Entry No. 6
I have a very sick feeling to my stomach just thinking about what happened to us on Saturday. Seeing the Fremont Cannon blue was not a pretty sight and seeing them with it was even worse. We had a late spurt of energy in the last quarter and we were very close but we could not seal the deal.
Being a senior it hurts bad to just not be able to have my name in the plaque next to Rebel Park. I really don't want to talk about this game anymore so im going to change the subject, sorry.
Every game that we play now will be conference games and we are extremely excited for it and our goal is to be MWC Champions. We have to continue to have great practices and work hard for that prize.
We must see the road to success as a ladder that we must go up one by one and look at what is at hand each week. We cannot let ourselves look ahead -- or higher up the ladder.
This weekend while being up North, we got a chance to meet Mrs. Ireland and her family and it was really nice to have met them. They seem like great people and that was great to see. Mrs. Ireland also would tell us that her husband would watch all the games and when we would be down, he would be too and I think that just shows the power that this beautiful game called football can have on people.
This weekend we travel to Air Force and I am looking forward to going up there. I am going to be able to catch up with one of our alumni, former Rebel kicker Dillon Pieffer. It's always good to talk to people have gone through you are going through in any situation.
One thing that has been noticeable for everyone at practice is that, the weather is cooling down and that helps us practice a little bit more comfortably. I don't know if everyone has experienced practice on a turf field during the summer heat but it is not fun.
So I hope you guys watch us play on Saturday on The Mtn.and help us try to extend our MWC record to 2-0. Go Rebs!
