Kickin' It With Serge: Entry No. 7

Going to Colorado Springs to play Air Force was a tough trip. We did not leave there with a victory. We played hard, we just let some things get to us. We need to convert better in the red zone and score touchdowns. We have to eliminate dumb penalties and we have to do our job in special teams and that includes me.

I missed another field goal. I will go look at the tape and see what I did wrong and correct it. The weather did not help us at all. We should be able to adapt to it because we are playing in the Mountain West Conference and you never know what kind of weather you are going to be encountering. It seems like Mother Nature did not want to help us in the 4th quarter. The wind all of a sudden shifted and went into our face. It felt like Air Force put around 4 fighter jets in the north end zone and let them fire.

The way back was a very quiet but a very bumpy ride. I don't think I have encountered that much turbulence on the way to and back from a game. It was pretty scary, I am used to flying but it was weird.

We have to bounce back from these two losses and step up our game. We have BYU coming in and we are very excited to be playing at our stadium. Both of our last two games have been on the road so it would be nice to just get back to our own schedule.

I finally have my first exam this Friday before we have to report as a team. The test I am taking is for Communication between the Sexes. This class is rather interesting and it really opens my eyes and lets me see things that I would have not really noticed unless I took a course like this. I am going to need to study since I have not attended the last two classes due to traveling. So wish me luck!

It is really nice seeing friends that understand what you are going through and are older because they have a lot of knowledge in life and have different views from when they were younger. (Former UNLV kicker) Dillon Pieffer really has helped me as a kicker and a person going to the real world soon. There are certain things that I would like to achieve and my goals seem more attainable than ever. Thank Pief.

I hope you Rebel fans have not given up on us, because I am sure that we have not given up on ourselves. Hope to see you at Sam Boyd Stadium on Saturday. Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m.

I know I was slacking with no quote lately. Here is one on life that I really enjoy.
