Oct. 10, 2016
LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - Fans can watch Saturday’s UNLV football game at Hawai’i on television, thanks to the management at KVVU-TV FOX 5.
The local station, which is the home to the Reb Zone Sports Show each Sunday at 11:00 p.m., has acquired the rights to run the telecast, which is being produced by Oceanic on a pay-per-view basis for the islands. The game is not going to be made available anywhere online so local fans not heading over to Honolulu would have been out of luck without the help of FOX 5.
Kickoff at Aloha Stadium is set for 9 p.m. Pacific Time between the Rebels and the Rainbow Warriors and the UH TV crew will be play-by-play man Robert Kekaula, analyst Rich Miano sideline reporter Scott Robbs.
The live radio call of the game on ESPN 1100 AM & 100.9 FM will feature Russ Langer and Mike Pritchard.
This will mark the first time a UNLV football game has been picked up to be shown locally since Cox Communications in Las Vegas brought back an ESPN3.com production of the Rebels’ game at Louisiana Tech in 2012 It will be the first UNLV game on FOX 5 since the station picked up a Big East Network telecast of the Rebels’ trip to play West Virginia in 2010.
