UNLV Head Coach Bobby Hauck

On the win over Colorado State…
“Obviously we are thrilled to win. Our players have shown a lot of character and toughness. They have worked hard in practice and they deserve to win, so I’m thrilled for our players. Our staff had a nice plan this week and I’m happy for everyone involved. Colorado State did a lot of good things. They are very sound on defense and you have to prepare a lot of things for their offense. I’m proud of our guys especially our defense. Obviously we can’t let teams run the ball as well as they did tonight, but I’m excited to get the win and excited for our team.”

On practicing tough before the CSU game…
“We practiced with a lot of intensity and it was pretty physical Tuesday and Wednesday. It was rewarding to see some that show up tonight on the field because we as coaches see it. We had a lot of chances to not come out with the win but we came from behind twice. Our guys we determined to get the win.”

On defense and special teams play…
“Our defense and our special teams came up with a lot of plays. Those kids played hard. I think we tackled very well. We overran some plays, but that’s a credit to Colorado State’s game plan. One of the things we have done better this season is playing the run. There scheme gave us some run fit problems and it almost cost us the game.”

On Philip Payne’s tying record…
“Good for Phil. Obviously it was a good couple of throws and catches. The end of the first half was a big play for us. We tried to managed the clock so they didn’t have time to do anything, so that was a good catch and a good throw.”

Dionza Bradford

Previous game efforts on this game…
“The previous game efforts didn’t really have an impact. I still just came out and followed my blockers.”

On the almost touchdown run…
“I knew I was in.”

Caleb Herring

On the first touchdown pass to Payne…
“Anytime you do something like that which is positive for the team, it settles you down a little bit. It lets you know what your doing works.”

On confidence…
“I feel that I needed to slow down and relax. A lot of the time at quarterback you know what’s going to happen and you see it, but when it comes to executing it at the snap, that’s the hardest part.” Being able to come back after CSU scored… “We knew that we had enough time to get down and get a good scoring drive going. With the way our offensive line and our offense was clicking so far in the game, we were really confident we could go down the field and score. Then we did.”
