Gutierrez Earns UNLV's First MW Award Of Season|

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV freshman place-kicker Daniel Gutierrez has been named Mountain West Special Teams Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
This marks the first weekly league award for a Rebel this season, the first special teams nod for UNLV since 2015 and the first for a Rebel kicker since Nicolai Bornand won two in 2014.
Gutierrez a walk-on from Granada Hills Charter School in Los Angeles, tied for fifth in school single-game history with 14 total points scored in UNLV’s 26-16 upset victory at first-place Fresno State Saturday night.
The freshman tied a school record by making four field goals in one game, hit both of his extra-point attempts and also kicked off seven times against the Bulldogs. His three first-half field goals (38, 27 and 23 yards) helped UNLV go into halftime tied at 9 while his final kick, a 25-yarder with five minutes remaining, gave the Rebels their biggest lead of the evening.
