Randle Earns Honor For Work Against Lobos|
Nov. 7, 2012
LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV junior running back Bradley Randle has been named the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas Mountain West Player of the Week Presented by SEVEN Magazine, the game's organizers announced Wednesday.
Randle is the first UNLV player to earn the award, which is decided by online voting by fans, since it began last season. The native of Murrieta, Calif., turned in his second three-touchdown game of the year last week against New Mexico. He rushed for 113 yards and two scores on just 12 carries and also recorded his first career receiving touchdown with a 17-yard pass from Nick Sherry to help the Rebels down the Lobos 35-7 at Sam Boyd Stadium on Saturday.
The Pac-12 Conference winner of the award this week was also a running back from the Golden State as UCLA's Johnathan Franklin earned his second such honor in 2012.
This is the second season of conducting weekly Facebook player-of-the-week polls, driven by fan votes, recognizing exemplary on-field play within the two Bowl affiliated conferences, the Pac-12 and Mountain West. Each week, players from both the Pac-12 and Mountain West conferences are selected for nomination and then posted for voting. All college football fans are welcome to cast their vote starting on Monday each week for Player of the Week at www.facebook.com/lvbowl.
