LAS VEGAS - UNLV head football coach Mike Sanford announced Monday that co-defensive coordinator Kurt Barber has resigned from the Rebel staff.

"It's been a good three years and I think it's time for me to move on to something different," Barber said. "I've really enjoyed my experience and I think Mike and his staff will continue building up this program."

Barber spent three years overseeing the team's defensive line and became co-coordinator before last season.

"I appreciate Kurt Barber's work and commitment to our football program," Sanford said. "We will begin a search for a replacement immediately."
