COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - UNLV junior golfer Ryan Moore has been selected as the Mountain West Conference Golfer of the Month, the league announced Wednesday.
Moore, of Puyallup, Wash., scored the award after leading the Rebels in two tournaments. He finished third at the Southern Highlands Collegiate Championship in Las Vegas, shooting three consecutive 69s on his home course. One week later, Moore finished 11th overall at the Hall of Fame Invitational in Houston.
Additionally, Moore was one of 34 golfers nationally named to the Official Watch List for the Ben Hogan Award, presented annually to the top player in collegiate golf.
In his most recent outing, Moore was the individual medallist at the National Invitation Tournament in Tucson, Ariz. Although the tournament was played from March 28-30, its results were not considered for the award and will instead count toward's Moore's play in the month of April.
The 11th-ranked Rebels wrap up the regular season in 10 days at the ASU Invitational in Tempe, Ariz., on April 9-10.
