Shintaro Ban Named Mountain West Men's Golfer Of The Month|

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV men's golf senior Shintaro Ban has been named the Mountain West Men's Golfer of the Month for October. This is his second career MW Golfer of the Month/Week accolade.
Ban, from San Jose, California, shot a final-round-low 7-under-par 63 to tie for individual medalist honors at 10-under at the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, October 10. It marked his second career individual win as he also tied for first at the Robert Kepler Invitational in 2016.
He shot all three rounds of the Jerry Pate tournament in the 60s and his final round consisted of an eagle, six birdies and one bogey.
Additionally, he was UNLV's top individual finisher at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate in Alpharetta, Georgia, October 22, where he tied for 12th at 5-under par.
For the month, Ban recorded a scoring average of 68.5 per round in the six rounds played during the month. He shot par or better in five of the six rounds and was 1-over par in the other.
