Eagles Soar Past Rebels|

FORT MEYERS, Fla. - Florida Gulf Coast scored in the final 12 minutes to top the UNLV men's soccer team 2-1 on Friday night. The loss was the second straight for UNLV, sending them to 0-2-1 on the year, while FGCU improved to 2-1 on the season.
Matt O'Shaughnessy scored first for the Eagles, as he headed in a corner kick from Matthew Piccoli in the 10th minute for a 1-0 advantage. The Rebels would tie the game midway through the first half, when Peter Rodriguez sent a cross into the box to Ben Haughland, who then sent a shot to the top right corner for the score. FGCU broke the tie in the 79th minute, on a goal by Chris DiNapoli. Ben Foerstner was credited with the assist.
UNLV held a 10-7 edge on shots in the game, but FGCU goalkeeper Adam Glick came up with six saves to earn the win. Calvin Bailey was credited with one save in goal for the Rebels.
UNLV will return to action on Sunday, taking on Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton, Fla., at 12 pm (PST).
