SAN JOSE, Calif. - The UNLV men's soccer team dropped its second straight conference road game on Sunday afternoon as it was defeated by San Jose State 3-0 on Sunday afternoon. The Rebels dropped to 5-6-2 with the loss, and are 1-3 in league play, while the Spartans improved to 7-5, and 2-1 in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation.

SJSU's Ismael Ibarra scored the eventual game-winner, as he connected on a shot to the left corner of the goal following a throw-in from Gavin Wenyon in the 21st minute. The Spartans increased the lead to 2-0 in the 33rd minute, when Julio Gonzalez drove into the right side of the box and crossed a shot to the left corner.

The final goal of the afternoon came in the 78th minute. With a scramble for the ball in front of the net, Colby Moore came up with the ball and placed it in the back of the net for the third goal for the Spartans.

UNLV actually held a 17-11 edge on shots for the game. Rebel goalkeeper Calvin Bailey was credited with two saves and three goals allowed, while Richard Mann made two saves to earn the shutout for SJSU.

The Rebels will next play on Saturday, Oct. 20, as they take on New Mexico in Albuquerque, N.M., in a 6 pm (PST) contest.
