Rebels Dropped By Air Force 3-0|

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Air Force held scored twice in the first half to post a 3-0 win over UNLV in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men's soccer action on Friday night. The Rebels fall to 6-10, and 5-5 in the MPSF with the loss, while the Falcons improved to 7-8-1, and 3-6 with the win, which broke a six-game losing streak.
Scott Muir scored the opening goal for the Falcons, as he collected a pass in the box behind the Rebel defense and beat UNLV goalie Peter Clitheroe one-on-one to convert the shot for a score at 14:54. Air Force added to the lead five minutes later, as David Schill, who assisted on the first goal, was on the end of a two-on-one break, and finished the play with a shot that just trickled past Clitheroe at 19:56.
Colin Eames finished off the scoring, when Marcus Sagastume won a battle for the ball with Clitheroe, and found Eames all alone near the goal for the easy score at 55:16.
Air Force finished with 18 shots for the game to nine for UNLV. Clitheroe finished with five saves in goal in 70 minutes of action, while Matt Johnson finished the last 20 minutes and posted two stops. Paul Elsbernd and Brian Guyette split time in goal for Air Force to earn the shutout.
UNLV stays in Colorado to take on Denver on Sunday with a 11 am (PST) start.
