ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - New Mexico's Michael Green scored a goal in each half to lead the Lobos past UNLV 2-0 in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men's soccer action on Saturday night from the UNM Soccer Complex. With the loss, UNLV finished the regular season at 7-6-4, 1-4-2, while New Mexico improved to 11-6, 5-2 in league play.

Green posted the night's first score in the fourth minute on a shot from inside the box off an assist from Stephen Brown for a 1-0 lead. The first half would end in the same 1-0 score, as both teams took a total of four shots.

The second half saw UNLV hold a 6-2 edge on shots, but it would be the Lobos who connected again. Once again it was on a goal from Green, as he scored on a breakaway to the right corner of the goal in the 67th minute.

UNLV finished the game with a 10-6 advantage on shots, and 2-1 on corner kicks. Roland Swanson was in goal for the Rebels, while Justin Holmes earned the shutout for UNM.

The Rebels will enter next week's MPSF Tournament as the sixth seed, and will open up play in the first round against third-seed San Jose State on Thursday, Nov. 12 at 3:30 pm (PST). This year's tournament is being held on Nov. 12-15 in Denver, Colo.
