UNLV men's soccer weekly release
The UNLV men's soccer team ends the regular season on Friday night, hosting CSU Bakersfield at 7 pm on the Rebels' Senior Night at Peter Johann Memorial Field.
UNLV is 4-5 in league play, and has clinched a spot in next week's 2012 MPSF Tournament, held in Albuquerque. The Rebels currently stand in sixth place, but could finish as high as the fourth seed if they win on Friday night, combined with losses or ties by Denver and San Jose State. In the first meeting this year, the Roadrunners handed UNLV a 5-1 loss in Bakersfield on Sept. 29. The game will be webcast on UNLVRebels.com, thanks to the student-run UNLV TV production. It will be the final home game for five seniors, Nick Marshall, Mike Mota, Robert Garcia, Jonny Espinoza, Eddie Vega, while redshirt junior Ryan Robertson will also be honored as he is graduating next Spring.

Rebels Fall In MPSF Opener
CSU Bakersfield (4-1-4, 1-0 MPSF) used a strong second half to hand UNLV (2-8-1, 0-1) a 5-1 loss in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men's soccer opener for both teams on Saturday night from Main Soccer Field.

UNLV (6-12-1) is paced this season by sophomore forward Salvador Bernal, tied fourth in the MPSF in points (19) and goals (seven), while forward Nick Marshall has 13 points and five goals this season.
Scouting CSU Bakersfield
The Roadrunners (12-4-5, 7-3 MPSF) is 2-2 in league road games this year, with the two wins coming at Houston Baptist and at Seattle. CSUB is paced by the league's top scorer, Gyasi Zardes, with 14 goals and nine assists for 37 points.
Next Time Out
UNLV will open play on the MPSF Tournament in the first round on Thursday, Nov. 8, with the time and opponent to be determined on Saturday night after the completion of the conference regular season.
