LAS VEGAS - UNLV freshman Marcos Balladares was named Co-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Brine Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday. Balladares shared the weekly honor along with Chris Wright of New Mexico. Balladares is also the first Rebel to earn conference weekly honors this season.

The 5-10 forward, a native of Wellington, Fla., led UNLV to its one win of the season, a huge upset over 20th-ranked and then first-place Denver on Saturday night. Balladares assisted on the game-winning goal in the 77th minute, and followed that with a score in the 85th minute to seal the win for the Rebels. In the season finale on Sunday, Balladares assisted on the Rebels' first half goal by Lamar Neagle in UNLV's 2-1 overtime loss to Air Force.

Balladares finished the season tied for second on the team with three goals and three assists for nine points.
