UNLV takes on third-seeded and No. 23 ranked Seattle at 7 pm in the WAC Men's Soccer Tournament semifinals Friday night at Peter Johann Memorial Field, marking the first time the two teams have met in a postseason tournament. Seattle reached the semifinal round following a 3-0 win over CSU Bakersfield Wednesday. UNLV found itself in a battle with Grand Canyon, before the second-seeded Rebels would pull away for a 2-1 victory. The Rebels are hosting this year's conference tournament for the first time in school history.
Single game ticket prices for the tournament are $8 for adults, $5 for youth ages 13-18, while kids 12 and under are free as well as all UNLV students (with a student ID). The UNLV Soccer Foundation is hosting a free tailgate before each UNLV game in the tournament, and will be open on Friday at 5 pm with free food and food drinks.
Wednesday’s victory for the Rebels pushed their home record to 7-3 this season, including 5-1 against WAC opponents. Seattle meanwhile has played just seven road games, and won just three of those contests. In their first meeting this year, UNLV knocked off then No. 22-ranked Seattle 2-1 in double-overtime on Senior Day, thanks Timo Mehlich’s golden goal.
All six WAC Tournament games will be live streamed through the WAC Digital Network, which is available both online and on over-the-top applications for Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV and Roku devices.
