LAS VEGAS - The UNLV men's and women's swimming and diving teams returned to conference action in winning form, as they combined to win a total of three meets against Mountain West action on Friday night from the Buchanan Natatorium. In the men's meet, UNLV (4-1, 3-1 MWC) topped Wyoming 171-128, while the UNLV women (4-2, 4-1 MWC) posted a 168-132 win over Wyoming and 162 to 122 over New Mexico.
The men were dominant from the start, winning a total of 12 of 16 events, including in the first seven. Four double-event winners paced the way, beginning with Johan Claar who won the 500 free in 4:36.38 and the 1000 free in 9:23.60. Jonas Andersson took both breast events, as his time of 56.14 in the 100 tied for the fastest in the MWC this season, and he also swam 2:03.73.
