LAS VEGAS - UNLV freshman Charlie Tapp was named Mountain West Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday. It is the first weekly honor of his career, and he is the fourth swimmer from the UNLV men's team to be honored this year.

Tapp, a native of Langley, British Columbia, swept both the 50 free and the 100 free to help UNLV win back-to-back conference road dual meets at Air Force on Jan. 16 and at Wyoming on Jan. 17. The wins gave UNLV its first-ever perfect season in Mountain West Conference action at 5-0. The freshman also swam on the 400 free relay, helping it to first place times both days, and also swam on a second-place 200 medley relay against Air Force.

UNLV will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 31, for a Senior Day meet against UC Santa Barbara at 12 pm in Las Vegas at Buchanan Natatorium.
