Rebels Back In Action Saturday

LAS VEGAS - This Week In UNIV Swimming - UNLV hosts Utah in a Mountain West Conference meet on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 2 pm.
Saturday's meet against Utah will be the first home meet of the season for the Rebel men, while the women will be swimming in their second after hosting Colorado State last month.
UNLV's men posted wins over five of six opponents in the two-day UC Irvine Shootout this past weekend, including a 91-41 win over conference rival BYU. Other wins came over Air Force, Cal State Northridge, UC Davis, and BYU again, while the lone loss came to Hawaii.
The Rebel women posted 3-1 mark, beating UC Davis, Cal State Northridge and San Diego State before losing to BYU 83-39. On Saturday, UNLV topped Hawaii, Pepperdine, UC Davis, and San Diego State (60-53), while falling to Stanford and BYU.
John Mendoza was named the MWC Men's Swimmer of the Week after winning all four of his events over the two days, and he currently holds the fastest time in the league in the 500, 1000, and 1650 free.
Leading the Utah women is Whitney Lopus, a double-event winner against Denver last weekend. On the men's side, John Baque won two events to pace the Utes.
