Rebel Netters Get Past LMU|

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The 54th-ranked UNLV men's tennis team eked out a 4-3 victory over Loyola Marymount Saturday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
The teams were tied at 3 and the last match, at No. 1 singles, was inside of a winner-take-all third-set when UNLV's Rene Ruegamer was awarded the tiebreaker via umpire ruling against his opponent, Alex Wilton, which ended the match and improved the Rebels to 3-2. The final score was Ruegamer winning 7-6, 3-6, 7-6.
The Rebels opened the morning by taking two of three doubles matches for a 1-0 lead. Ruegamer and Alex Bull won 8-4 over Nicholas Bjerke and Todd Volmari at No. 1 and Brian Kenyon and Bernard Schoeman won by the same score over Daniel Simko and Nick Northcott on court two.
UNLV got its other two points from Bull, who swept Volmari 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3; and Willie Sublette, who got past Daniel Simko 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 at the sixth spot.
Next up, UNLV will host No. 59 New Mexico State on Sunday beginning with doubles play at 10 a.m. Admission to all UNLV tennis matches is free of charge.
