LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The 57th-ranked UNLV men's tennis team lost 5-2 to visiting Utah on Friday afternoon at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

The Rebels fell to 3-5 while the Utes improved to 5-1 in a battle of former Mountain West rivals.

Utah began the afternoon by winning two of three doubles matches for one point. UNLV's only win came at the top where Brian Kenyon and Bernard Schoeman downed Benito Suriano and Dmytro Mamedov, 8-4.

In singles play, UNLV got its two points from Rene Ruegamer, who downed Suriano 7-6, 6-2 at the top position; and Kenyon, who rallied past Ace Matias 0-6, 6-2, 6-3.

The Rebels return to action on Sunday when they host Santa Clara beginning with doubles at 10 a.m. Admission to all UNLV tennis matches is free of charge.
