Rebel Tennis Blanked By Broncos

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The 57th-ranked UNLV men's tennis team lost 7-0 to No. 49 Santa Clara Sunday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

The Rebels dropped their fourth straight match to fall to 3-6 while the surging Broncos improved to 7-2

Santa Clara began the afternoon by winning two of three doubles matches for one point. UNLV's only win came at the top where Brian Kenyon and Bernard Schoeman downed Kyle Dandan and Nicolas Vinel 8-5.

In singles play, UNLV only managed to win one set as Rene Ruegamer went the distance with 103rd-ranked Dandan at the first spot, losing 7-6, 2-6, 1-0 (10-7).

The Rebels return to action on Friday at Cal Poly in what is the first of three straight matches away from home.
