Men's Tennis Bounces Back With Win

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's tennis team won for the fourth time in the last five matches, 6-1 over Montana, on a pleasant Saturday afternoon at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

The Rebels improved to 9-3 while the Grizzlies fell to 7-5.

UNLV got an early boost by earning the doubles point to start the day. Courtney Lock and Ruben Alberts beat Peter Mimnagh-Fleming and Max Korkh 6-4 at the top sport, and Alexandr Cozbinov and Charlie Croxford clinched it with a 6-2 victory over Victor Casadevall and Ludvig Hallgren on court three.

In singles play, the Rebels won five matches to capture the win. Amilon defeated Casadevall 6-1, 6-2 at the top spot; Cozbinov downed Mimnagh-Fleming 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2; Alberts beat Korkh 7-5, 6-1 on court three; Lock got by Alex Cannellopoulos 7-5, 6-4 at No. 4; and Croxford finished off Jacob Schoenherr 6-4, 6-2 on court six.

UNLV will continue its home stand as it is set to start conference play against Boise State on Tuesday at 11 a.m. followed by Idaho State at 3 p.m. Admission to all home matches is free of charge.
