Rain Clears, Rebels Roll|

LOGAN, Utah (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's tennis team spoiled Utah State's Senior Day with a 6-1 victory Friday evening at the USU Outdoor Courts.
The Rebels, who have now won nine of their last 11 outings, improved to 13-9 and 3-2 in the Mountain West while the Aggies fell to 9-14/0-6.
The match began in the morning but rain hit during doubles play and the teams endured a five-hour delay.
When play resumed, the Rebels clinched a 1-0 lead when Tamas Batyi and Willie Sublette finished off Dennis Baumgartner and Matt Thatcher 8-7. Dimitar Petrov and Jakob Amilon earlier won on court three over Andrew Whiting and Sebastian Schneider.
Moving to singles, UNLV quickly got three straight-set wins to clinch the match. Ace Matias downed Baumgartner 6-3, 6-0 at the top spot; Petrov downed Whiting 7-6, 6-4 at No. 4; and Amilon defeated Tomas Cosmai 6-2, 6-4 on court six. Two Rebels eventually also won their matches in three sets: Denys Pume fought off Marcus Fritz 6-3, 5-7, 6-2 at No. 2; and Batyi rallied past Schneider 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 at No. 3.
Next up, UNLV closes out its regular-season schedule with a trip to in-state rival Nevada, Reno on Sunday. The match will be part of the Governor's Series sponsored by NV Energy.
