SAN DIEGO (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's tennis team saw its season end Friday with a 4-1 loss at the hands of TCU in the opening round of the Mountain West Championships at the Aztec Tennis Center.
The fifth-seeded Rebels ended 7-16 while the fourth-seeded Horned Frogs improved to 9-14.

The point would come down to the second position and Bernard Schoeman and Brian Kenyon won a tiebreaker to down Nick Chappell and Will Stein 9-8.
Singles was also competitive but UNLV dropped all three sets that went to tiebreakers. Nick Chappell tied the match with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Rene Ruegamer at No. 1; Stevens gave TCU the lead with a 7-6, 6-1 victory over Charlie Alvarado at No. 6; J.T. Sundling got by Kenyon 6-1, 7-6 at No. 3; and play was halted when Facundo Lugones finished off Batyi 7-6, 6-4 on court two.
"The guys left it all out on the court today, unfortunately it wasn't enough and hats off to TCU," said UNLV head coach Owen Hambrook. "It was a tough way to end but with our returners and incoming players we look to bounce back next season."
