Rebels Send Foursome To Qualifying

TULSA, Okla. (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV will have one singles player and two doubles teams take part in the qualifying portion of the 2012 ITA Men's All-American Championships at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

Tamas Batyi earned a spot in the qualifying singles draw that starts Monday while the doubles teams of Batyi and Johannes Markel and Ace Matias and Bernard Schoeman will begin on Tuesday.

UNLV finished play in prequalifying Sunday with four Rebels dropping singles matches.

Markel, who lost his late-night second-round match on Saturday, 6-0, 6-2 to Romain Bogaerts of Mississippi State, closed his trip today with a 6-2, 6-2 loss to Joel Rubio of UT-San Antonio.

Schoeman dropped his Sunday match, 6-1, 6-4, to Andre Stenger of Nebraska; Matias lost to Stefan Szacinksi of LSU, 6-4, 7-5; and Charlie Alvarado lost to Zach Wilder of Ole Miss, 7-5, 6-3.
