LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - On Monday, December 1st, the UNLV Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) held its 2nd Annual Dodgeball Tournament to help needy families for the holidays. The event helped secure over 400 canned goods to go to local charities.

"This event is great way to help out our Las Vegas community and bring our student-athlete family together before finals," said Bryan Bonnell, SAAC member of the UNLV baseball team.

Twenty teams of student-athletes battled it out for first place, with the winning team "Ball of Duty" taking the crown. This year the SAAC also engaged the campus for involvement, resulting in the UNLV Campus Police Department volunteering to serve as dodgeball referees.

"We always want to show the Las Vegas and campus community that we are all working together to promote 'one-ness'," said Eric Toliver, Senior Associate Athletics Director and SAAC administrator.

UNLV's SAAC and student-athletes collectively participate in over 1000 hours per year.
