Hudspeth Named Outstanding Rebel of the Week

Track & Field junior Najia Hudspeth earns Outstanding Rebel of the Week honors after taking first in all four events she competed in at the Fresno State Bulldog Invite last weekend.


Zhu Named Outstanding Rebel of the Week

Women's tennis sophomore Aiwen Zhu earns Outstanding Rebel of the Week honors after going 4-1 last week to help the Rebels win two of three matches.

A good leader on the court ... Possesses a great pull-up jumper and is one of the best in the Mountain West at creating her own shot ... Very intense player, especially on the defensive side.

(2015-16 - Sophomore):
Earned Honorable Mention All-Mountain West honors ... Was the first transfer to lead UNLV in scoring since 2003-04 with 13.8 ppg, seventh-best in the league ... Also ranked 12th in steals (1.6 spg) and 10th in three-pointers per game (1.5) ... Posted double-figures in 27 games, and recorded her first career double-double, 11 points and 12 rebounds, at Fresno State (Dec. 30) ... Hit a career-high five three-pointers in her first game as a Lady Rebel, finished with 21 points against Southern Utah (11/14) ... Career-high of 23 points game on the road at Boise State (1/27).

(2014-15 - Sophomore): Sat out the season due to NCAA transfer rules.


(2013-14 - Freshman): Played in a total of 30 games for the Jayhawks, and averaged 4.4 points and 2.0 rebounds per contest ... Made a total of four starts for Kansas ... Posted in double-figures four times, including 10 points in her final game for KU, against top-10 Baylor in the Big 12 Quarterfinals ... One of the team's top three-point threats, shooting 35.4% (17-of-48) and added 60 rebounds, 21 assists and 20 steals on the year ... Career high of 18 points came in a home win over Texas Southern on Dec. 12.

Earned 2013 WBCA High School All-American Honorable Mention and set the school scoring record with 2,311 points in her career ... Helped the Rams to a 64-8 overall record and four top-four finishes at the state tournament ... Two-time first-team all-state selection ... Ranked No. 85 nationally by Blue Star Basketball and in the top 150 by both Dan Olsen Girls' Basketball Report and All-Star Girls' Report ... Recognized as the 2012 Idaho Gatorade Player of the Year co-runner-up and the 2012 all-area co-players of the year ... First-time all-district selection in volleyball as a freshman, sophomore and junior, and also lettered in track ... Played for Team Concept on the AAU circuit.

In addition to her twin sister Dylan, also a Lady Rebel, has five brothers, Conor (29), Javier (26), Dylan (21), Stefan (19) and Gaby (17), and a second sister, Natalia (28) ... Brother Stefan is currently a junior on the Saint Mary’s basketball team ... Majoring in sociology.
