Larry Chin is in his 34th season as the coordinator of athletic equipment at UNLV. A longtime Las Vegan since 1964, Chin has been with the Rebels for the last 38 years and has worked as an equipment manager with almost every athletic program at the institution.
Chin currently oversees and handles equipment for 14 of the 17 intercollegiate sports at UNLV. He works mainly with the women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, baseball, softball, volleyball and women's cross country and track and field programs.
Only one of two current or past staff members to participate in all four men's basketball NCAA Final Four appearances, which included the 1990 National Championship title, Chin and former head coach Jerry Tarkanian are the only two to have witnessed the Runnin' Rebels postseason success in 1977, 1987, 1990 and 1991.
Chin is an inducted team member of nine UNLV Hall of Fame and two Southern Nevada Hall of Fame programs. He and his wife, Onn, reside in Las Vegas and have one son, Nathan. They are the proud grandparents of three grandchild, Zachary Paul Chin, Nicholas Jordan Chin and DJ Chin.
