LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - Two former Lady Rebels, Janice (Holliday) Burrus and Vicki Lander, have both been named to the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame's 2012 Silver Anniversary Team, it was announced on Tuesday. Eighteen women were selected, based on their accomplishments as a senior basketball player 25 years ago.
Both Burrus and Lander weer members of the 1989-90 UNLV Hall of Fame Team. Burrus, who played under her maiden name of Holliday while at UNLV, played two years for the Lady Rebels, 1989-91, after first spending two seasons at Odessa JC. She appeared in 57 games with 35 starts, and averaged 6.2 points and 4.2 assists over her career.
Lander was a four-year player for UNLV (1987-91), and left the school third all-time in career assists with 403. She also still ranks on the career top 10 lists in steals (seventh) and three-point percentage (sixth). Lander was a two-time All-Big West selection, including a first-team honoree in 1990-91.
