Thompson For The Win!
Senior guard Kelli Thompson, leading scorer in the Mountain West, poured in a game-high 29 points, including eight during UNLV's 9-2 run to end the game, and her free throws with 11.9 seconds left gave the Lady Rebels a thrilling 58-57 victory at New Mexico on Saturday afternoon in Mountain West women's basketball action at The Pit.

Though the Lady Rebels swept the season series against New Mexico, that hasn't slowed down UNLV's motivation of avenging its loss to the Lobos in last year's tournament quarterfinals. UNLV came into the 2012 tournament with its highest seed ever but was upset by the seventh-seeded Lobos 61-58.
Only one player on this year's Lady Rebel squad saw significant minutes in that contest, senior guard Kelli Thompson, and she's done everything she can to make sure UNLV won the first two matchups this year. Thompson averaged 25 points in the two wins, including 29 in the victory at New Mexico, and was a combined 19-of-21 at the line (90.5%).
