LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) -

Every week this summer, we will hear from a different Lady Rebel as she catches up UNLVRebels.com readers with an account of how their summer is going, an update on their workouts and their goal for the upcoming season. This first installment is provided by redshirt junior center Aley Rohde.

Wednesday, July 9

Hi everyone, my name is Aley Rohde and I am going to be a redshirt junior this upcoming season. I have played one year with the Lady Rebels and I am beyond excited to get another season in the books!

The very first thing to start off my summer was graduation. My family came down to celebrate with me and I had such an amazing night that I will remember the rest of my life. I also was lucky enough to have Diamond and Alexis come join me in celebrating at my BBQ following graduation! It is always nice to have such great support around.

I have been fortunate enough to finish off my college degree in three years and I could not be anymore excited about the way things have worked out for me. I will be starting my Masters in Public Administration this fall and I am so excited to get that going while still being a part of this team.

After the grad ceremony, I took off to Arizona for a weekend to have a graduation party with all my family and friends back home. It was such a fun time, with so many friends and old teammates that I haven’t seen years. Going home is always so enjoyable since I do not get to see my family nearly as much as I wish I could.

We also concluded all of our camps about a week ago and we had such an awesome week with all of our campers. It is always so exciting to see all the kids that show up and are so eager to get better and learn from everyone involved with camps. It is one exhausting week, but probably the best week of summer as well!

Following graduation and aside from camps, my summer has mainly consisted of a lot of working and rehabbing. I have been working two jobs, but I absolutely love them! I am working front desk at Massage Envy and I also am working at Bahama Breeze (so everyone should definitely come visit!). As many know, I tore my labrum during season. Once season finished, I got surgery and repaired it, while also tightening the capsule. I have spent much of my summer mornings rehabbing to get it better so I can start this season as strong as I finished. On Tuesday, I was officially cleared to start lifting again, to my comfort, so I am excited to hear what the next news will be on my next visit. **Fingers crossed!!**
