Rebels Lead After Two Rounds At The Rebel Beach Invitational|

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV women's golf ended day one at the Rebel Beach Invitational Monday in first place after two rounds at Spanish Trail Golf Club in Las Vegas. The Rebels, who are co-hosting the inaugural tournament with Long Beach State, carded a 14-over 590 to hold a one-shot lead over Kennesaw State heading into Tuesday's final round.
Sophomore Nastasia Kossacky and freshman Polly Mack were UNLV's top finishers on the day, shooting a 3-over 147 to sit in a tie for fifth. Juniors Shannon Oh, playing as an individual, and Elizabeth Prior came in two shots behind them at 5-over to tie for 8th, while senior Mackenzie Raim and freshman Cathy Liu, also playing as an individual, were both one stroke behind them in a tie for 14th at 6-over.
Rounding out the top five after the second round were Kennesaw State in second at 15-over, Ole Miss in third at 18-over, BYU in fourth at 20-over and Long Beach State in fifth at 26-over.
Individually, BYU's Kenda Dalton and Kennesaw State's Clara Avelin are atop the leaderboard at even through 36 holes, followed by Colorado State's Haley Greb in third at 1-over, Ole Miss' Julia Johnson in fourth at 2-over and three players - Kossacky, Mack and Ole Miss' Pi-Lillebi Hermansson - tied for fifth at 3-over.

• UNLV is co-hosting the inaugural Rebel Beach Invitational at Spanish Trail Golf Club in west Las Vegas with Long Beach State. The tournament will be back again in 2019.
