Oct. 23, 2017

Day Two Results | @UNLVWGolf

LAS VEGAS ( - UNLV women's golf followed a stellar 11-under round-one performance at the 2017 Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown with another gem in Monday's second round, carding a 10-under as a team to move to the top of the leaderboard at 21-under. The Rebels will take a seven shot lead into Tuesday's final round at Boulder Creek Golf Club, where they will try to win their tournament on their home course for the second time in three years and the third time overall.
Junior Elizabeth Prior has been on fire in her first tournament action of the year, shooting a 67 and 66 in the first two rounds, respectively, to grab a two-shot lead at 11-under (133). Both scores are better than any single-round score she carded during her sophomore season, when she was named a Mountain West All-Conference Second Team selection. Freshman Polly Mack continues to be consistent in her third collegiate tournament, shooting a 69 on day two after a 67 in round one to sit in fourth at 8-under (136). Senior Mackenzie Raim, a two-time Mountain West All-Conference First Team performer, had another solid day, shooting another round of 70 to sit in a tie for 10th at 4-under.
Missouri, who led the field by two shots at the beginning of the day dropped back to third after shooting even on the day, while San Jose State shot up to second after a 4-under second round took them to 14-under on the tournament.
REBEL OF THE DAY: Prior hasn't shown any rust despite not having played in a tournament since the NCAA Regionals last May. On Monday the junior carded a 67, her best since her freshman season, then followed that up with a 66 Tuesday to take the tournament lead. Her 11-under is four shots off her career-low of 15-under.
