Rebels In 12th After Two Rounds In Dallas

DALLAS, Texas (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV Women's Golf was back out on the course for the second time in a week's span, this time competing at the Trinity Forest Invitational hosted by Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Monday featured the first two rounds at Trinity Forest Golf Club and saw the Rebels card a 40-over 616 as a team to sit in 12th after day one.

UNLV shot a 24-over 312 in round one then improved in round two with a 16-over 304. Freshman Polly Mack was the Scarlet & Gray's top finisher, carding a 36-hole score of 8-over (152) for a tie for 31st. Sophomore Nastasia Kossacky was just one shot behind Mack at 9-over while junior Elizabeth Prior - who is coming off her second career win - is a shot back from Kossacky at 10-over.

Houston grabbed the lead on Monday at 10-over 586 and heads into Tuesday's final round with a five-shot lead over second-place Kansas State (15-over 591). Individually, Kansas State's Reid Isaac shot a 3-under 141 to lead the field and holds a two-shot lead over three players - Tennessee's Waverly Whiston, SMU's Brigitte Dunne and Missouri's Jess Yuen.

REBEL OF THE DAY: Mack has been the most consistent Rebel in the fall season and was rewarded with the top spot in the lineup at Trinity Forest. She delivered with UNLV's top two-round score of the day (8-over).

REBEL NOTES: 
The Rebels are coming off their first tournament win of the season after last week's victory at their home-hosted Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown
This is just the second year of the Trinity Forest Invitational. The Rebels have now played in both tournaments. Last year rain wreaked havoc and only two rounds were played over a muddy and rainy two days
Last season, UNLV won the Mountain West Championship for the second straight year
UNLV has appeared in 15 straight NCAA Regionals 
The Rebels have won three conference championships in seven years under head coach Amy Bush-Herzer
