Michael Coll completes his first coaching staff with two new hires.
Erica Jensen is in her first year as an assistant coach with UNLV after a stellar playing career for the Rebels.
A native of Las Vegas, Jensen played her freshman year for Big West champion Cal State Fullerton before transferring to UNLV in 2004. She appeared in 64 games for the Rebels, and started 55 games. A two-year team captain, Jensen led the Rebs to three straight Mountain West championships (2005, 2006, 2007). One of the top defensive midfielders in the conference, Jensen earned second team All-MW honors in 2006, first team All-MW honors in 2007 and was named to the Academic All-Mountain West Team three times.
After her playing career ended, Jensen held several different positions in the athletics. She was an undergraduate assistant coach for the Rebels during the 2008 season, and worked as a student intern in the UNLV Media Relations Office during the 2009-10 athletic year. After a summer internship with WPS (Women's Professional Soccer) in 2010, Jensen spent the 2010-11 season as an assistant sports information director for Cal State Bakersfield, which saw her serving as the primary contact for the Roadrunner men's and women's soccer programs and women's basketball, among other sports.
She earned a double bachelors degree in journalism & mass media studies and psychology in 2008 and recently received her master's degree in sports education leadership, both from UNLV. Jensen currently serves as a head coach and trainer for Player's Soccer Club in addition to her role with UNLV. She also is assistant with the Nevada ODP program, and holds her NSCAA Advanced National Diploma..
