Rebels Seek First NCAA Tournament Win at No. 4 BYU

The 2016 Mountain West Regular Season and Tournament Champions will face fourth-ranked BYU in Provo, Utah, on Friday, Nov. 11 in NCAA First Round game.


Rebels Clinch Conference Tournament Title, NCAA Tournament Berth

UNLV will make its first NCAA tournament appearance since 2006 after claiming the Mountain West Conference Tournament title on penalty kicks.

Top-Seeded Rebels Face Utah State in Conference Semifinal

The 2016 Mountain West Regular Season Champions will take on fourth-seeded Utah State in the first semifinal of the conference tournament on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 4 p.m.

(2006 - Junior): Led the team in scoring for the third straight season, as she posted four goals and a team-high four assists for 12 points ... broke a 14-game scoreless streak with a game-winning blast against Wyoming with just two seconds left in UNLV's 1-0 win in the MWC Quarterfinals (Nov. 1) ... named to MWC All-Tournament Team ... also earned CoSIDA Academic All-District Second Team honors.

(2005 - Sophomore): Led the team in scoring for the second straight season ... finished with 7 goals (tied for 4th in the MWC) and 7 assists (tied for 3rd) for 21 points (3rd in the league), which tied for the 5th-most in a season at UNLV ... scored the biggest goal in UNLV history, as her golden goal six minutes into overtime gave the Rebels a 1-0 win over New Mexico in the MWC championship game ... named MWC Tournament MVP after posting 2 game-winners in the tournament ... tied for the team lead with 3 game-winners on the year ... also named both MWC All-Tournament and All-MWC 2nd Team.

(2004 - Freshman): Turned in an outstanding freshman season, as she scored a team-high five goals (tied for sixth in the MWC), and tied for the team lead in points with 11 (tied eighth in the MWC) ... posted two game-winners on the year, against San Diego (Sept. 24) and Air Force (Oct. 24), a game in which she notched two scores ... also added one assist ... only freshman to play in all 19 games, and made seven starts.

High School: Four-year starter for El Toro High, led team to the CIF quarterfinals three times and to the semifinals as a junior ... was a second-team all-league selection and Team MVP her senior year .... 1st-team all-league member as a sophomore.

Club: Played four year for the Olympic Development Team.

Personal: Kathryn Mary Carney ... born on Oct. 12, 1986, in Long Beach, Calif.. ... daughter of Terence and Cindy Carney ... has two brothers, Patrick (22) and Colin (8) ... father played basketball at Pacific (1975-79), while her uncle Cormac Carney played football at UCLA from 1982-83, and another uncle, Brian Carney, played at Air Force from 1974-77 .... cousin Jake Carney played strong safety at Notre Dame (2002-2006) ... majoring in broadcasting.
