Mark Carr is in his second year on the Rebel staff as he was hired in July of 2012. In his first year with UNLV, he helped Kylie Wassell turn in a career-best season while becoming the only goalkeeper in the Mountain West to earn all-conference honors.

Carr brought six years of college coaching experience with him to Las Vegas. He served as the Director of Coaching for Burnsville Fire Soccer Club in Burnsville, Minn., from November of 2010 until his move to Las Vegas. Prior to that, he was an assistant coach for the West Virginia University men's soccer program, from 2007-10. While at WVU, Carr helped recruit two classes that were ranked in the top 30 in the nation, including the 2009 class that had a No. 12 national ranking. Carr coached the Mountaineer goalkeepers to post a total of 33 shutouts during his three seasons in Morgantown, while the team would reach the Sweet 16 of the 2007 NCAA Tournament. He moved to West Virginia from Elmira College, where he was the head men's soccer coach from 2004-07 at the New York-based school. Elmira had five players named Empire 8 All-Conference under Carr, while the team featured the 2006 Empire 8 Rookie of the Year. During his three-year tenure, four of his players were named NSCAA East Regional Academic All-Americans.

Carr is a graduate of the Virginia Military Institute, where he was a four-year starter for the Keydets, a team captain and a member of the Southern Conference All-Academic Team. He received his bachelor of arts degree in history in May of 2003 and a master's of science degree in education from Elmira College in June of 2006. He is a member of the NSCAA and holds NSCAA National and Advanced National Coaching Diplomas.
