LAS VEGAS ( - Junior forward Jenn Wolfe posted the first two-goal game of her career to give UNLV a 2-0 victory over Sacramento State on Friday night in women's college soccer action from Peter Johann Memorial Field in the second game of the Nike Invitational. With their third straight win, the Rebels improved to 4-2-1 on the season, while Sac State dropped to 1-3-1.

"Jenn has been a constant scoring threat for us this year," said UNLV head coach Michael Coll of Wolfe, who leads the team with six goals this season. "She has been playing with great confidence, and has really taken advantage of her scoring opportunities."

UNLV dominated the action on the field all night long, holding a 15-8 edge on shots. That included an 8-2 edge in the first half, but the Rebels could not get on the scoreboard in the opening stanza, as Hornet goalkeeper Kimberly Mata came up with four saves. UNLV kept up the pressure in the second half, and would go ahead 1-0 in the 55th minute off Wolfe's first goal of the night. Freshman Susie Bernal began the play when she took the ball down the right baseline before sending a cross into the middle of the box. An unmarked Wolfe would headed it towards the right post for the score.

The Hornets picked up their attack in the second half, taking six shots but UNLV goalkeeper Kylie Wassell was steady in goal to preserve the shutout. Wolfe then sealed the win for the Rebels with her second score of the night. This time a Hornet foul set up the play, which gave UNLV a free kick behind midfield. Kristin Sankey took the kick and her high pass soared over the Sac State backline. Wolfe ran up and quickly headed the ball again to the right post for the score, making it a 2-0 lead for the Rebels in the 89th minute.

Wassell finished the night with four saves for her third shutout of the season, while Mata would post seven in the contest. UNLV led the Hornets on shots on goal with a 9-4 edge, while corner kicks were in Sac State's favor, 5-2.

UNLV will close out the weekend's action on Sunday in the final game of the Nike Invitational, a 1 pm contest against Montana. That will be the second of three games that day, with Indiana State and Sacramento State playing at 10:30 am, while the UNLV men's squad hosts UC Riverside at 4:30 pm.
