LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - In the first matchup between UNLV and Boise State as Mountain West rivals, the Rebels extended their home win streak to four with a 5-0 rout of the Broncos on Friday night in women's college soccer action in front of 1,012 fans at Peter Johann Field. With the win, UNLV improved to 6-8-2, 2-1 in league play, while Boise State dropped to 5-9-1, 0-3 in the conference.

"It was a great win for us tonight," said UNLV head coach Jen Klein. "Our focus tonight was to come in and concentrate on our attacks and on finishing them off, and that's something we obviously did very well."

Four different Rebels scored in the game, beginning with junior defender Caitlin Allen, who scored her second career goal on a header in the 13th minute off a free kick from Macy Jo Harrison. The lead stretched to 2-0 in the 28th minute, and again it was off the head of a Rebel when Denali Murnan connected on a free kick from Julie Owens.

Harrison, who did not have a point this year until the assist in the first half, broke out of her scoring drought with back-to-back goals just four minutes apart midway through the second half. Her first goal came when Katherine Orellana dribbled into the box, drawing all the defenders towards her before she sent a pass off to Harrison who was unguarded and she easily scored from 12 yards out for a 3-0 lead in the 57th minute. The same two players hooked up again on the next goal, as they ran a give-and-go for several passes, with Orellana taking her last possession down to the right side of the baseline. That drew the goalie out, and Orellana sent the ball back to Harrison to score on the empty net. That goal put UNLV up 4-0 in the 61st minute.

Orellana closed out the scoring in the 66th minute. Erica Meier earned the assist on the play as she sent a long pass up the field that BSU goalie Maddy McDevitt misplayed and let it get behind her. Orellana raced up to the ball and simply dribbled the ball into the goal from 15 yards out for a 5-0 UNLV lead.

UNLV finished with a 15-5 edge on shots, and 7-2 advantage on corner kicks. Kylie Wassell (one save) and Kelli McCracken teamed up for the shutout for the Rebels, while McDevitt was credited with six saves for the Broncos.

The Rebels return to action on Friday, Oct. 21, with a road contest in Colorado Springs, Colo., against Air Force at 5 pm (PT).
