ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV and New Mexico played a scoreless game for the first 77:58 of their game on Sunday, until the Lobos' Lindsey Guice came up with the game-winner for a 1-0 UNM win in Mountain West women's soccer action from the UNM Soccer Complex. UNLV dropped under .500 for the first time this year at 7-8-2, 2-5 in the MW, while the Lobos improved to 8-8-1, 6-1 in league play to tie for first.
Shots were at a minimum for the game, with the Lobos holding a 6-5 edge in the first half, and 6-4 in the second for a final 12-9 margin. The winning score came in the 78th minute when Guice beat a Rebel defender and unleashed a shot from 12 yards out that found the back of the net. That put UNM up 1-0, and UNLV could not find an equalizer, sending the Rebels to the conference road loss.
