Spring Update From The Rebels|
April 1, 2014
LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The Rebels are in the middle of their spring season, and have played three games thus far, a 4-0 win over Dixie State along with a 2-1 loss to Weber State and a 1-0 loss to Northern Arizona. Three more games await UNLV in April, starting with two on Saturday, April 5 against BYU (12 pm) and USC (4 pm). The final home game will be against Southern Utah on April 20 at 1 pm. All three games will be on Peter Johann Memorial Field, on the UNLV campus.
There have been several changes around the women's soccer program over the past month, with the team currently in a coaching transition with the departure of head coach Michael Coll to UNC Greensboro and assistant coach Mark Carrto Belmont as an assistant coach for the men's squad.
That leaves Rebel alum and current assistant coach Caitlin Allen, along with assistant Andy Pringle in charge of squad. The two will continue to run spring practices while also coaching the team in its final three spring home games. Allen was a standout four-year starting defender for the Rebels, while Pringle started on the Rebel staff this past summer as a volunteer coach. In addition to working with the UNLV goalkeepers, he also held various on-field training responsibilities. He is also involved in video analysis, gameday operations, team marketing with youth players in the community and UNLV's Rebel soccer academy.
A search for a new head coach for the Rebels will begin this month. Contact information for the two staff is listed below.
