Needham Leaves Women's Soccer Program

July 10, 2007

LAS VEGAS - UNLV women's soccer assistant coach Michael Needham has left the Rebel program to become an assistant coach with the George Mason University women's soccer program.

Needham, who had spent two years with the Rebels after being hired in June of 2005, came to Las Vegas with seven years of collegiate coaching experience after a four-year playing career at Rhode Island, where he played for the top-25 ranked Rams from 1991-95.

During his two years on staff at UNLV, the team won the Mountain West Conference Tournament championship each year and made two appearances in the NCAA Tournament.

A national search will be conducted by UNLV to fill the vacancy.
