LAS VEGAS -

UNLV Weekly soccer notes

After dropping their season opener last Friday to Loyola Marymount 2-0, the UNLV women's soccer team will be looking to get its' offense on track and earn the first win of the season as the Rebels host the UNLV Nike Classic on Friday and Sunday. UNLV will take on Illinois State at 7 pm on Friday in their first game of the tournament, and will end against Cal State Bakersfield on Sunday at 1 pm. Sunday is also "Autograph Day", and fans are invited to stick around after the game and have the players and coaches sign autographs.

ISU is also looking for its' first win after a 4-0 loss to No. 17 Illinois on Aug. 21, while Cal State Bakersfield has been one of the surprises of the college season thus far with a 2-0 record and a 2-1 upset over No. 13 San Diego.

This will be the first meeting between UNLV against both Illinois State and CSU Bakersfield. The Rebels also hope to break their current two-game losing streak on Peter Johann Memorial Field, while the four-game winless streak at home is the longest since a five-game streak in the 2003 season.
